中秋節🥮怏樂 a happy Mid Autumn Festival to you!

Thanks for joining me in this adventure of life.

I found out the hard way that Red’s do not accept coins anymore.  I had to find someone in the bar if they will take my change for a dollar.

Till they make the sales tax to 10%, the penny will exist.  I’m surprised to find on a recent visit to Canada that they have done away with the Canadian penny.  If the total comes out with a one place number, they round it off to the nearest 10 cents.

I had an exhibition of my I-Hotel illustrations at Cafe Valor at the War Memorial building in Civic Center of San Francisco.  It’s like about ten of my original illustrations I did for Karen Tei Yamashita’s book, I-Hotel.  It’s been about ten years since I’ve done these illustrations.  Nice to see author Karen Tei Yamashita (left) show up.  The exhibit was curated by Alice Wu (middle).  Great to have her set everything up for me.

At the I Hotel reception I did a live drawing session.  How many people showed up…..I would say about twenty people.I promised everyone who showed up a chicken.  Here’s Karen getting her chicken.

I am at Porkchop house.  Yee Association of LA President shows up.  Henry Cheung couldn’t shuddup.

Hey…Miggie!  (middle).  Saw her nine years ago at our 40th Galileo High School reunion.  I was worried, I thought she had amnesia or got kicked in the head by a horse.  But found out she was a kite that night.  There’s Fran (left) also class of 70 and there’s Cyndy.  We are at Millard’s Horse Ranch for Jest Jammin’s picnic bbq.

Wow….should have seen these people fifty years ago!

Here’s executive director of CHSA, Tamiko, Aaron and Koji at Millard’s.

and the Golden Gate follies…Cynthia Yee, mmm… and Pat Nish at Millards.

Sunday Alley event….a tribute to the railroad workers of the Transcontinental. In Waverly Place, Chinatown.

On Pender Street, Vancouver Chinatown after 40 years since I was last there.  1979.  I am in my elements.  But sadly the Chinatown has gone to shit.  Just a block away are homeless encampments, heroin addicts and crazies.

So….what’s been going on with me. Not really much.

We are moving upstairs and it seems like most of the task has fallen on my shoulders. My left knee is very stiff and I’m moving very slow up the stairs. No one had been helping. John has been coming by and helped a bit but he’s inconsistent and I cannot rely on him.

I gave him my small refrigerator and he took my hand truck and left with out a word. Like at 3am.

I’m trying to clear out the back cottage.

Had a little reception at cafe valor where I am exhibiting my ihotel illustrations. It’s a closing reception actually. It’s going down tomorrow.

Tomorrow night is the Mid Autumn Festival. The bright full moon will light the sky. Thanks to all those who have joined me in my life adventure as we float through the heavens on this earth.
